Audition Workshops — Group Classes

1 - 3 Day “Guest Teacher” Series:

• Audition Etiquette and ‘What to Expect’/’Expect the Unexpected’

• Craft audition material — Learn the technical aspects of presenting short snippets of material. One-on-one feedback and exercises.

• Work 1 minute monologues, 16/32 bar song cuts, and/or dance audition combination. Dependent on time/number of students. Customizable for class needs.

• Mock auditions — gain experience and confidence in audition situations

For longer teaching contracts:

• All of the above, plus:

  • Highlight a new show each week! Present material from the show to expand theatre knowledge

  • AND/OR students prepare and present audition material appropriate for each new show — expanding audition materials, working on our “book”, and mirroring real life audition expectations. A great option for older and conservatory students.

Programs are easily adjusted for specific class demands and desires.

Audition Prep — Youth Individual and College Prep

Have an important audition coming up? An audition coach can help you learn to perform competently and competitively, while also learning to showcase what makes you YOU!

• Work audition materials — Learn the technical aspects of performing abbreviated material

• Focus on specificity and individuality. Standing out while being authentically you is the most important thing!

• Get the jitters out. Boost confidence in knowing you ARE prepared!

• Takeaways on how to research, prepare and practice audition material on your own

Group Musical Theatre Classes — Dance, Acting and/or Singing

Ages 5 - 11

• Creative Warm Up Games and Across the Floor character exercises to engage the imagination and begin making unique choices!

• Emphasis on Story Telling as a team and as an individual.

• Scene-Into-Song or Dance classes are preferable for this age group, but scene work and creative writing courses also available.

• Popular Musical options — The Sound of Music, Cinderella, Shrek.

Ages 12 - 18

• Highly customizable. Singing, Acting and Dance classes available, or a combination of all three. Focus can be on a singular musical, or more personalized material.

• Acting — exercises to create character with given text of scenes or monologues. Learning to ‘score’ a monologue or scene with ‘beats’, ‘actions’ and character choices. Written worksheets to develop character.

• Singing — emphasis on the transition of Scenes INTO Song, with duets or solos. Working with a “moment before”, environmental work, and listening skills when singing alone.

• Dance — Dance for all levels. Main focus is character choices and individuality.

Musical Theatre ‘Master Classes’

• 1 - 5 day ‘Master Class’ learning material directly from the Broadway Tours of West Side Story or The Sound Of Music

• Scenes, Monologues, Songs, and Dance Combinations available

• All Ages. Younger Students and Mixed Age — Sound of Music recommended. Older Students — West Side Story

• Q&A about professional auditioning, professional acting, Broadway experiences, etc.
